The decision to have plastic surgery is a very personal and individual one. While some people undergo a procedure after a horrific event, for many others it is a difficult choice. People have the right to spend money in whatever way they chose, and appearance is with you every minute of every day. For some people, changing their look provides confidence and the ability to feel good about themselves.
It is rare that women are criticized for wearing makeup or men get flack for buying an expensive suit. Both of these acts are considered part of being a professional. When you look good, you feel good. Plastic surgery can help accomplish the same goals.
Whether it is a date that you are on, a business meeting, a reunion, or just waking up in the morning and looking in the mirror, if you feel good about your body, your spirit rises.
Think about how you look when you are sick, or when you haven't taken a shower and you have an icky feeling. Now turn 180 degrees. What does that picture look like?
Imagine never being able to turn 180 degrees. Always feeling inadequate and out of place. If you were offered a chance to change the way you feel about yourself, why would you shun that opportunity?
Plastic surgery can be grand or can be minimal. Sometimes the things that bother people are small. A minor procedure can change that small problem forever. If the surgery requires more work, so be it. You cannot put a price on being satisfied with yourself.
When we teach children to learn, sometimes an incentive is necessary. If you finish all of your vegetables, you can have a piece of candy. If you clean up your room, then you can have a sleepover. What's wrong with adults doing the same thing. If you work really hard and earn a promotion, why not reward yourself? If the object of your affection involves plastic surgery, then great.
Sometimes we make life more difficult than it actually is. Assuming that the things that make you happy do not infringe on other people's health, why not do them? This is not to say make rash decisions, but if you analyze a situation, and determine one result will make you more happy without significant consequences, then go for it.
All day, everyday, we make decisions. What time to set the alarm, what lane to drive in, the order in which we get work done, who to spend free time with, what to order for lunch, and so on and so forth. If you make the decisions that make you happy, by in large you will be satisfied. If the elephant in the room is that you are not comfortable with a certain aesthetic look, fix it. Plastic surgery is not going to give you a loving family or a great job. However, if the only thing holding you back from achieving happiness is something about the way you look, it could be the answer.
